I have a series of canvases wherein I start an album, then paint until the music ends. Bettie Serveert is great, and this one is an absolutely killer collection of songs. Both “D. Feathers” and “Tell Me, Sad” transcend all that jangly guitar pop and ruin my day in the absolute best way – absolute sadboi bangers. This little canvas doesn’t mean anything; it’s just me trying to deal with all the ways the album resolves its bleakness and optimism.
